My Mom’s Cheese Toastie

My mom's cheese toastie is incredibly delicious and easy to make! It only uses a handful of pantry ingredients and takes under 15 minutes to make. It's an excellent snack, breakfast or party food!

Ingredients
 
 

  • 200 g Processed cheese grated (a mix of cheddar and mozzarella works too)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Spring onion sliced
  • 1 tsp Dried parsley
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • Chili flakes optional, for spice lovers
  • 5 slices White bread
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the cheese, egg, spring onion, salt, dried parsley, dried oregano, and pepper. Add chili flakes if desired.
  • Butter each bread slice and top with the cheese mixture.
  • Arrange the slices on a baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes. You're aiming for melted and lightly browned cheese, and toasted bread.
  • Once done, slice the toasties into quarters and serve warm.
