Ingredients

  • 500 grams Lean Ground Beef
  • 150 grams Red onion
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • Salt to Taste
  • Water as needed
  • 7 grams Ginger
  • 10 grams garlic
  • 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 150 grams Tomato Puree
  • 1 Egg
  • 150 grams Peas
  • 10 grams Fresh Coriander

Instructions

  • Start by chopping the onion sautee style (watch video for reference). Then heat the ghee in a skillet or kadai and once hot add in the onions.
  • Now fry the onions on a medium heat till they start browning. To assist the process season with salt and once they start browning on the edges add some water and fry till the water dries out and the onions start frying again. This helps spread the caramelization. You can repeat this process depending on how brown you want your onions.
  • Once the onions are nice and brown add in the chopped ginger and garlic and sautee till the garlic starts to brown.
  • Then add in the ground beef and season with along with adding all the powder prices. Now mix till everything is well combined and the meat starts getting some nice caramelization on it.
  • Now add in your tomato puree along with some water and cover and cook for about 8 minutes.
  • Half way through give everything a good mix, add in your frozen peas (or any vegetable of choice) and cover and let it continue to cook. If the kheem is too dry at this point add in more water as well.
  • Once 8 minutes are over pop the lid open. Taste the kheema for seasoning. Crack your egg or eggs into it and give it a good mix.
  • Turn off the heat and finish by garnishing with coriander.
  • Serve with fresh pav or your fav low carb/Keto bread or naan.
