Ingredients
 
 

  • 200 grams frozen cranberries (use fresh cranberries if you get them)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 cloves
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1 orange zest and juice
  • 2 tbsp honey (as per your preference)
  • 1-2 tbsp brown sugar (as per your preference)
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Add frozen cranberries, a cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves, and cardamom to a saucepan.
  • Add some orange zest from a fresh orange and then the orange juice.
  • Next, add some honey to sweeten.
  • Add ¼ cup of water to the saucepan.
  • Place the saucepan on the stove and turn on the heat to medium.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Add brown sugar to taste and tackle the tartness of cranberries.
  • Continue to simmer until the sauce is thick and jam-like.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and use a spatula or wooden spoon to smoosh the cranberries.
  • Let the sauce cool, then remove the cinnamon stick, cloves, and cardamom pods.
  • Transfer the spiced cranberry sauce to a small bowl, and it's ready to serve! Enjoy your homemade spiced cranberry sauce.
